Biography

Richard Fascia was born and raised in the north end of Providence, the son of first-generation Americans who worked in the city's textile mills and jewelry shops. At the age of 17, his father passed away leaving him as the sole supporter for his mother and younger sister. He worked in jewelry shops at night while attending Hope High School during the day. Shortly after graduating high school, Fascia secured an appointment to the Providence Police Academy. In 1997, after assignments in the Housing Unit, Patrol Bureau, Traffic Bureau, Administrative Staff Division, and the Office of the Chief, he retired as a Sergeant. He is a 42-year member of the Fraternal Order of Police. After retiring, Fascia worked at the Providence Housing Authority as a fraud investigator. He spent seven years as President of Jeopardy Management Group, a private investigations firm focused on criminal defense, and personal injury. He was later employed by Crossroads RI where he served as the Director of Safety and Security for ten years, working with the homeless population of Providence. At this time, Fascia is the Human Resource Manager for USENTRA Security Services. Additionally, Fascia served as a member of the Johnston Zoning Board of Review for 19 years and also served on the Johnston Board of Canvassers, as the Republican alternate, and as Vice Chairman of the Johnston Redistricting Committee.
