Biography
First elected to the House of Delegates in 2014, Sheree Sample-Hughes has been a member of the House since 2015. She served as Speaker Pro Tem from 2019 to 2024. Her public service history includes roles on the Maryland Commission on Health Equity, the Virginia I. Jones Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Council, and the Governor's Correctional Standards Commission. She previously served as a Councilwoman for the Wicomico County Council from 2006 to 2014 and has been active in numerous civic boards and professional organizations throughout her career.
