Biography
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Kenneth Kerr graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1975. He pursued his higher education at Frederick Community College, where he earned an A.A. in General Studies in 1978, followed by a B.A. in Music from Hood College in 1981, an M.S. in Professional Writing from Towson University in 1995, and a Ph.D. in Education from Morgan State University in 2003. Professionally, he has served as an Assistant Professor of English and Transitional Studies at Harford Community College and an instructor at WOR-WIC Community College. Since 1999, he has been with Frederick Community College, where he served as Chair of the English Department and Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences. Kerr's public service includes roles on the Frederick County Public School Board of Education, the Maryland Higher Education Commission Faculty Advisory Council, and the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Commission. He was first elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2018 and has been a member since 2019.
