Biography

Elected to Nebraska Legislature in 2014 and 2022. He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman from 1960 to 1963. He is a retired hospital executive. Former memberships include the Ralston Board of Education, the board of the Mid-America Council of Scouts, the board of the Omaha Symphony, the board of Outlook Nebraska, Inc. (as chair), the president’s advisory board of Nebraska Wesleyan University, and the board of the Combined Health Agencies Drive. Honors include the 2024 Public Official of the Year from the Nebraska Hospital Association, fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the 2018 Regent Bob Whitehouse Policy Champion Award.
