Biography
David Lucas Sr. was born in Peach County, GA and earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the Tuskegee Institute and a J.D. from Mercer University. Lucas' career experience includes serving on the Georgia House of Representatives. He is a founder of 100 Black Men and the Al Lucas Scholarship Foundation. Lucas also received the Distinguished Service Award for Excellence in Political Activities from NYU. He was elected as state senator in 2012 and has been a member of the Senate Appropriations, Regulated Industries and Utilities, Economic Development and Tourism, Transportation, and Urban Affairs Committees.
