Biography
State Representative Venton Jones is currently serving his second term in the Texas House of Representatives. Elected in 2022, he represents the district where he was born and raised. Professionally, Representative Jones is a non-profit CEO, Texas Realtor, and a committed servant leader with a long history of service to his own community and to others. He is the Founder & CEO of the Southern Black Policy and Advocacy Network (SBPAN), where he leads the organization’s mission to advance the health, social, and economic well-being of Black communities in the Southern United States. Since the inception of his career, Representative Jones has been a tireless advocate for marginalized communities and working-class families, with over 20 years of experience championing improved healthcare access and affordability, affordable housing, economic development, voting rights, and a better life for all.
