Biography

Daisy Hartsfield, a third-generation Waipahu resident, was appointed by Governor Josh Green, on January 12, 2026, to fill the vacancy of House District 36 (Waipahu) Representative. Daisy lives in a multi-generational home where the support of family shaped her view of life. She was raised alongside her maternal uncles, who immigrated from the Philippines. Throughout her professional career, Daisy has demonstrated a consistent commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, strengthening families, and advancing fairness within Hawaiʻi’s justice and social services systems. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed practices, ensuring that interactions with children, families, and kupuna are approached with care, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding of the long-term impacts of trauma. In this next chapter of public service, Daisy will draw from her education, personal life experiences, and on her extensive legal and executive experience to advocate for social justice and effective, accountable systems, to better serve Hawaiʻi’s communities and its residents. Daisy has more than twenty years of distinguished public service to her appointment. Her public service career spans a wide range of roles dedicated to public safety, justice, and social services.
