Biography
State Representative Johnathan Newman is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 80th Ohio House District, which includes Miami County and southern Darke County. Newman is a pastor entrepreneur, starting a new church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention where he has been the senior pastor for 26 years. He has been of help to many in the community as a certified marriage and family counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Representative Newman has been a strong and outspoken advocate for the unborn for many years and a supporter of the pregnancy resource center Hope Rising in Dayton. He holds bachelor’s degrees in theology and sociology from Union University in Jackson, TN, as well as a master’s degree in theology from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
