Michael Gianaris (Democratic Party) is a member of the New York State Senate, representing District 12. He assumed office in 2011. His current term ends on January 1, 2027. Gianaris represented District 36 in the New York State Assembly from 2001 to 2011. His political experience includes being counsel for the Speaker of the New York Assembly and a member of Queens Community Planning Board #1.
