Biography
Born in Washington, D.C., Veronica Turner attended Central High School, Prince George's Community College, Tennessee State University, and the George Meany Center for Labor Studies. She worked as a Clinical Specialist and Analyst at the Prince George's Hospital Center from 1969 to 1996. Her career in union leadership includes serving as Vice President (1993-1995) and Secretary-Treasurer (1995-1996) before becoming President of the Service Employees International Union, Local 63 NCF&O in 1996. Turner was first elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2002, serving from 2003 to 2015, and was re-elected in 2018.
