Biography

Born in Prince George's County, Maryland, Karen Toles is a member of the Maryland General Assembly who has served since January 12, 2022. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.S. in Public Health, and the University of Baltimore School of Law. Her career has included roles as a Political and Legislative Coordinator and Organizer for Maryland Council No. 67, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and a Program Specialist for the United Mine Workers of America. She has served as a Regional Field Coordinator for the Democratic National Committee, a member of the Prince George's County Council, and the Director of Community Affairs and Legislative Advisory Office of the Prince George's County State's Attorney. She is currently the President of Paramount Policy Partners and an Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University.
