Biography
Scott Bedke (Republican Party) is the Lieutenant Governor of Idaho. He assumed office on January 2, 2023. His current term ends on January 4, 2027. Bedke was sworn in as speaker of the state House on December 6, 2012, when the Republican House caucus selected Bedke over incumbent speaker Lawerence Denney. Rep. Brent Crane (R-13A) challenged Bedke for the speakership in December 2018, but the Republican House caucus voted to retain Bedke. Bedke served as House speaker until November 2022 when he was elected to the lieutenant governor’s office.
