Biography

Daniel Biles is a judge of the Kansas Supreme Court. He assumed office on January 7, 2009. His current term ends on January 8, 2029. Biles first became a member of the court by appointment. He was appointed by Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on January 7, 2009. Biles replaced retiring Chief Justice Kay McFarland. This was Sebelius' fourth appointment and the first time that one governor had appointed a majority of Kansas Supreme Court justices. Biles was retained by voters in 2010 and again in 2016.
