Biography
Alan Powell (Republican Party) is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 33. He assumed office on January 9, 2023. His current term ends on January 11, 2027. Following his unopposed victory in the November 2, 2010, general election, Powell resigned from the Democratic caucus on November 5, subsequently switching his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. He stated, “My duty is to represent the citizens of my district the best I can. I think my voice can be better heard on the other side.”
