Mazie K. Hirono (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. Senate from Hawaii. She assumed office on January 3, 2013. Her current term ends on January 3, 2031. Senate to represent Hawaii. Upon her swearing into the U.S. Senate, Hirono became Hawaii's first female senator and the nation's first female Asian-American senator.
