Rashida Tlaib (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Michigan's 12th Congressional District. She assumed office on January 3, 2023. Her current term ends on January 3, 2027. House to represent Michigan's 12th Congressional District. Tlaib and Ilhan Omar (D), who was also elected in 2018, became the first Muslim women to serve in Congress. Tlaib was also the first Muslim woman to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives.
