Biography
Debbie Wasserman Schultz was born in Queens, New York, in 1966. Wasserman Schultz graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School East in 1984. She earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in political science from the University of Florida in 1988 and 1990, respectively. Wasserman Schultz's career experience includes working as a staffer to former U.S. Representative Peter Deutsch (D). She was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1992 to 2000, and the Florida Senate from 2000 to 2004. From 2011 to 2016, Wasserman Schultz was chair of the Democratic National Committee.
