Biography
Rupie Phillips (Republican Party) is a member of the West Virginia State Senate, representing District 7. He assumed office on December 1, 2020. His current term ends on December 1, 2028. Phillips originally served as a Democrat, but changed his party affiliation on January 26, 2017. Regarding the change in affiliation, Phillips stated that the Democratic Party did not match his values or the values of his district, specifically in reference to policies involving coal, guns, and abortion.
