Biography

Bernice Mireku-North was appointed to the Maryland House of Delegates on January 6, 2023, and has served as a member since January 11, 2023. She holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland (2003) and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law (2006). She also participated in a summer study abroad program at the University of Oxford in 2002 focusing on the comparative study of British and U.S. Judicial Systems. Her professional background includes service as a judicial law clerk at the D.C. Superior Court and the Circuit Court of Prince George's County. She served as an Assistant State's Attorney in Anne Arundel County from 2009 to 2015, worked as a contract attorney for TransPerfect Legal Solutions in 2017, and was a founding member of the North Virtual Law Office. She has practiced as an attorney with The North Law Group since 2018.
