Biography
Born in Doswell, Virginia, on November 18, 1945, Edith J. Patterson graduated from John M. Gandy High School in 1964. She earned her B.S. in Biology/Chemistry from Virginia Union University in 1968, an M.Ed. in Guidance & Counseling from Bowie State College in 1973, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from George Washington University in 1991. She served as a counselor at Charles County Community College from 1974 to 1991 and was the Director of Educational Talent Search at the College of Southern Maryland from 1991 to 2012. Additionally, she served on the Charles County Board of Commissioners from 2005 to 2010. First elected to the House of Delegates in 2014, she has been a member since 2015.
