Born Rita Gomez, June 30, 1958, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. Prior to her legislative service, she served as the mayor of Bellevue and as a district representative for Congressman Jeff Fortenberry. Her professional background includes work as a commercial real estate developer.
