Biography

Lyman Hoffman is a businessman and fisherman who has served in the Alaska State Legislature since 1987. Throughout his career, he has served as both a State Representative and a State Senator, including a tenure as Senate Majority Leader in 2019-2020. His previous government experience includes serving as the City Manager of Bethel from 1977 to 1985. In his professional life, he has worked as the Deputy Director of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation and as an owner of North Star Gas and Bethel Drilling & Welding. He is a member of several organizations, including the Finance Committee of the Orutsararmiut Native Council and the Lower Kuskokwim Development Corporation. He previously served on the boards of the Bethel Prematernal Home, the Bethel Native Corporation, and the Bethel Family Clinic, and as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Bethel.
