Biography
Gary Simmons was born in Savannah, Georgia. He attended Copiague High School, graduating in 1990, and Tuskegee University, where he earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice/Political Science in 1994. Professionally, he served as a manager for the U.S. Government Printing Office from 2006 to 2016. He has served as an operations team member for the Anne Arundel County and Annapolis Community Emergency Response Team since 2015. From 2018 to 2022, he was a staff assistant for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Special Education Department. He was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in November 2022 and has served as a member since January 11, 2023.
