Biography
Jim Abeler (Republican Party) is a member of the Minnesota State Senate, representing District 35. He assumed office on February 22, 2016. His current term ends on January 5, 2027. Abeler was first elected to the chamber in a special election on February 9, 2016. Abeler is a former Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 35A. He was first elected to the chamber in 1998. Abeler was also a 2014 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. Senate from Minnesota. Abeler lost to Mike McFadden in the Republican primary on August 12, 2014.
