Jeff Worrell

Biography

Jeff Worrell is a dedicated public servant and community leader who has called Carmel home for decades. Serving as an At-Large member of the City Council, Jeff has built a reputation rooted in a simple but powerful promise: "I hear you." He is widely recognized by constituents and colleagues alike as a pragmatic problem solver. Whether navigating complex municipal budgets, addressing local infrastructure needs, or assisting a single resident with a neighborhood concern, Jeff approaches every challenge with an open ear and a commitment to finding a path forward. Jeff’s passion for constructive dialogue extends beyond the council chambers. He is the founder of Project Civility, a non-profit initiative born from his belief that mutual respect and active listening are the foundations of a thriving community. Through this work, he has become a leading voice in fostering civil discourse and teaching how to Live Civility. In addition to his legislative duties, Jeff is a familiar voice in the community through his weekly column in Current in Carmel. He serves on various boards and commissions, including his recent appointment to lead the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Food Access and his ongoing work with Volunteer Carmel, council Finance and Special Rules Committee and the Transportation Committee. Jeff lives in Carmel with his wife, Shari. When he isn't serving the city or working on his latest civility initiative, you can often find him engaging with residents, grilling for friends, or enjoying the vibrant community he works every day to enhance.
