Jared Evans

Biography
Councilor Jared Evans joined the Indianapolis City-County Council in 2016 and represents District 17, which includes large portions of the city’s west and southwest sides. He is a lifelong resident of the district. Evans currently serves as the Council’s Majority Leader and chairs the Municipal Corporations Committee. He also serves on the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee and the Metropolitan and Economic Development Committee. He is a former All-State football player at Ben Davis High School, where he was a member of two of the school’s IHSAA Class 6A State Champion football teams. Evans’ family has a long history of military service and union membership, and in his own public service, he strives to see these groups treated fairly. Councilor Evans owns a fundraising development business focused on raising money for endowments and capital campaigns.
