Biography
Councilor Kristin Jones (Democrat) represents District 18, which includes the neighborhoods of West Indy, Old Southside, University Heights, Stringtown, North Square, Mars Hill, Bates Hendricks, Fletcher Place, South Village, We Care, Northwest Perry, The Valley, University of Indianapolis, IUPUI, Carson Heights, and parts of Fountain Square and Garfield Park. On the weekends, Kristin oftentimes cleans storm drains in her district to help with flooding and improve quality of life for neighborhoods. Kristin attends West Morris Street Methodist Church and enjoys riding her tandem bicycle with her husband and taking their dog, Lucy, for a walk. Kristin and her husband are Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Block Captains and can often be seen picking up litter. Kristin is focused on helping neighborhoods reach their potential by advocating for upkeep on roads, sidewalks, alleys, and bike lanes as well as funding for flooding in several areas of her district. She currently serves as the Chair of the Council's Public Works Committee.
