Ron Gibson

Biography

Councilman Ron Gibson District 8 Councilman Ron Gibson, a native of Indianapolis, is currently serving his third term on the Indianapolis City-County Council, having been elected in November 2023 to represent District 8. He was previously elected as an at-large member on the Council from 2000 to 2007. He currently serves on the Council's Community Affairs, Metropolitan and Economic Development, Municipal Corporations, and Public Works Committees. He is employed as a program manager with Anthem (Elevance Health). Also, Gibson is the President of the Devington Communities Association, Inc., a neighborhood association. Gibson is a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School (an Indianapolis Public School). After high school, he joined the United States Navy. Thereafter, he attended college where he received degrees in Business Administration and Management with honors. In addition, he earned a Master of Science in Management (MSM) degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Councilman Gibson is a member of the Eastern Star Church. He lives on the northeast side of Indianapolis with his son, Brian.
