Biography

Heidi Beidinger MPH, PhD, is a Professor of the Practice at the Eck Institute for Global Health at the University of Notre Dame and proudly serves as the Fourth (4th) District Councilmember. Dr. Beidinger earned a PhD in Educational Leadership and Organizational and Behavioral Analysis from Western Michigan University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Her work focuses on public health, policy, leadership, and community-engaged research. Her research and practice have addressed a wide range of public health issues, including childhood lead poisoning prevention, HIV/AIDS, correctional health, maternal and child health, and global health. Beidinger co-founded the Notre Dame Lead Innovation Team and the St. Joseph County Lead Affinity Group, a community coalition dedicated to advancing lead poisoning prevention and environmental justice. She served on the St. Joseph County Board of Health for more than seven years, including three years as President, and currently serves on Indiana’s Statewide Lead Working Group. Her work bridges research, policy, and community action to improve population health outcomes.
